Bonnie Blakley has dedicated herself to engaging employees to participate in morale boosting activities in the Chatham County Division of Family and Children’s Services (DFCS). Blakley made it her mission to boost employee morale among the workforce through a series of planned activities. Her leadership abilities among limited resources, accompanied by her positive energy, motivated several DFCS employees to function more effectively.

"Bonnie Blakley is an exceptional illustration of the type of energy and spirit that we commend," said DFCS Director Mary Dean Harvey. "Our employees are the backbone of our organization, and we are proud to recognize Ms. Blakley for her outstanding efforts in leadership."

The Georgia Public Employee Recognition Week was re-instituted in 2001 in an effort to recognize the outstanding accomplishments and commitment of state of Georgia employ ees. It is administered under the leadership of the Georgia Merit System, in conjunction with state agencies and departments. The success of Georgia government is dependent upon the efforts of its dedicated and committed employees. To honor and recognize state employees for their unique and diverse achievements, innovative ideas and dedicated service, various events will be held throughout the week of May 7-11, 2007 at the state and agency level.
