The Performance Excellence program offers courses that are directly applicable to the daily experiences of frontline DFCS staff and based upon specific regional needs and issues. To achieve this aim, the program utilizes regional experts and trainers who are familiar with the particular needs and interests of case managers across the state. With the conclusion of a successful test phase, next month’s statewide rollout will greatly expand access to the program for all certified veteran case managers and supervisors. Case workers wishing to fulfill their continuing education requirements can also use this program.
Performance Excellence represents one of many efforts by the Department of Human Resources (DHR) to reduce turnover among DFCS staff and enhance professionalism. “We are excited to be able to provide this continued learning opportunity to our more experienced staff,” noted Bonnie Kirschling, DFCS Education and Training Services Director.
